TROY BENJAMIN is a Los Angeles-based author, producer, videographer, and podcaster. He’s been fortunate to collaborate on the most beloved properties in popular culture including Star Trek, Marvel, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Transformers, and more.
As an author, he’s revealed the untold story behind the animated The Real Ghostbusters: A Visual History, helped new parents face end of the world parenting challenges with Marvel’s Great Responsibility: Raising Your Little Hero From Toddler to Teen, detailed the technological advancements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Wakanda Files, curated the insights of Marvel Studios' VisDev for How to Paint Characters the Marvel Studios Way, authored the behind the scenes artbooks Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Seasons One through Four Declassified, contributed to the exhaustive Guidebook to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, authored the Haynes Ghostbusters Ectomobile Owner's Workshop Manual, and has been a contributing author to the official websites for Disney, Star Wars, Warner Bros., MGM, and the COMET and CHARGE television networks.
Currently Troy works full-time as a videographer to the long-standing Star Trek brand, filming and editing digital content for their platforms.
Troy also collaborates with Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters-centric production company Ghost Corps as a consultant. Through his work, he’s fulfilled a childhood-dream documenting the creation of new Proton Packs, Ectomobiles, and Terror Dogs for the new films Ghostbusters: Afterlife and assisted the heads of department in reference material for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. As a fan; you might recognize him the longtime webmaster of the fansite Ghostbusters HQ, or as the co-host of the Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip, a weekly Ghostbusters fan podcast that he also produces.
Previously he worked as a studio production manager at Disney, overseeing the Disney+ launch titles Earth to Ned, Becoming, Amongst the Stars, Behind the Attraction, and A Celebration of the Music from Coco. And as a producer, he co-produced documentaries debuting at Sundance and TIFF including, Studio 54, Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood, Citizen Jane, and Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters. Prior to that, Troy worked for a decade in EPK, marketing, and DVD behind the scenes content on projects for Marvel, Disney, Lucasfilm, Universal, Fox, Paramount, Sony and Warner Bros. on properties including Star Wars, Transformers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Alien, Gravity, Halo, Peanuts, The X-Files, Deadpool and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
When he’s not working, Troy plays hockey, skis, and spends as much time as possible with his two amazing kids, who tell wilder stories than he does.
